New Year's resolution

Do you have any new year's resolution?

Mine is to get better fit for summer 2010! hard task, but I will do it! This also means that I wont have baking sunday every week, like I planned. Might be once a month or less. Still, when ever I really feel like baking, I can still do it but maybe less fat and sweet things.

Tomorrow we will have the party, my outfit will be very typical (I hope) tourist, with camera, map and everything from posing with peace sing to sandals and socks together. I hope it will be funny, otherwise I'll be Tina Turner. Need to try tonight still what I can do.

I am little bit scared that I'm getting cold again, as my headache wont leave and I have sore throat. Now just need to cross fingers and toes and hope for the best!

I hope that I could go see Lilly next week, she must be so lazy again after few weeks break. Now I did bring some of my riding gear from Finland so no need to use jeans at the stables.

Need to finish still shopping for tomorrow, buy meat for the raclette, something to drink etc. I think I'll do it only tomorrow afternoon. Lazy me :)

Trip to Suomi(Finland)

Phew, we are back! 10 days in snowy Finland with Raph, visiting my parents and sister. The first image, it's my lovely Naku! All covered with snow. She was so happy all holidays, so sad when we were packing our bags again..

We had loads of stuff to do, first we went to Tampere to Marika's place (my sister) and she took us climbing there. It was really great, except I was scared of high places. We also went skating in Helsinki, crosscountry skiing at my parent's place and skiing in Messilä.

At christmas eve, 24th, I got so amazing gifts. I got already before flight tickets to Finland from my parents and then I got another trip to Brussels from Raph's parents. I was so happy! I also got more knitting projects from Raph, interesting book from Marika, chocolate (nam nam nam) mattress with spikes for relaxing and so many other goodies!

Soon is new year's eve, we will go to our friend's place and all our friends will come there. It will be night with raclette, costume party with letter T and fun games like loup garoup(were wolf role play with cards)!

I haven't fully decided what I will be, as the letter T is in french.. so it's more harder to find ideas. It can also be famous person.

Any ideas? :)

Hyvää Joulua!

Merry Christmas from Finland!

Farewell University of Avignon

Pff.. what a year. I cannot belive than 2 semesters has passed and I have finished my studies. Well, it was only for the language diplomas, nothing bigger. Last summer I made my first DELF diploma and today I had second finals, hopefully I will get this CELF diploma now. Tomorrow the results will be on the board.

After exam, we went to Red Sky to have drinks with the group. It was so nice to chat with everybody, it was also sad to say goodbyes to my american friends. They live so far away, I'll miss them. Anyway, I'll be around here, I hope they will come back to France someday. If not, I promised to travel to Florida when I have enough money.

Life goes on, now I need to concentrate to find a job and take care of myself better. More sports, more jogging with the Lilly poney, more veggies!

Oh ps. I will see Naku in  3 days!!! and my family!!

Some baking

Since christmas is coming so quickly, I have been trying some traditional recipes. Simply ones, sweet and spicy.
I have been planning to bake 2 different things to raph's parents as a gift. The drink, glögi, spicy juice normally served either with wine or hit of vodka, wasn't that good. I couldn't find good blackberry juice from the stores, only sirop and it was way too sweet. But the smell of the spices was awesome at home after boiling. I think i will save the second bag of spices after christmas and buy some drinks from finland. I have endless list of what i want to eat while visiting home, what i want to bring to France..

I have only 2 days left in university, I am bit scared and stressed because of the future. Seems that no one needs english speaking secretary here, at least with my level of french it's impossible to find job from my own area. Even from other areas.. I'm getting sad. Any ideas either how to spend days without getting bored? I wish i would own a sewing machine.. as non-employed, cannot afford such a thing now.

I went to the first and only interview last sunday, for my misery, I read the ad wrong.. I was so angry to myself, how I could read 30hour per week, when the ad was really 30h per MONTH. Well, I couldnt accept that, as I would need a car in that job. and with that salary.. no way, cannot buy a car.

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first, I loved you first
Beneath the sheets of paper lies my truth
I have to go, I have to go
Your hair was long when we first met

Samson went back to bed
Not much hair left on his head
He ate a slice of wonder bread and went right back to bed
And history books forgot about us and the bible didn't mention us
And the bible didn't mention us, not even once

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first, I loved you first
Beneath the stars came fallin' on our heads
But they're just old light, they're just old light
Your hair was long when we first met

Samson came to my bed
Told me that my hair was red
Told me I was beautiful and came into my bed
Oh I cut his hair myself one night
A pair of dull scissors in the yellow light
And he told me that I'd done alright
And kissed me 'til the mornin' light, the mornin' light
And he kissed me 'til the mornin' light

Samson went back to bed
Not much hair left on his head
Ate a slice of wonderbread and went right back to bed
Oh, we couldn't bring the columns down
Yeah we couldn't destroy a single one
And history books forgot about us
And the bible didn't mention us, not even once

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first

6.12

6.12 was the independence day in Finland. It is a national public holiday to celebrate Finland's declaration of independence from the Russia.

If I would have been in Finland, I would have put 2 candles to the window (blue/white like the flag) and seen this made in every other house too..

But as I am in France, we were in Orange to celebrate St. Nicholas' day, specially Nicole's nameday (R's mom).
We have nice weekend, I went also to ride Lilly and it went so much better. Lilly tried once to get rid of me, by making own spurts and kicking the hind legs. First I got little bit stressed of that, because I don't want to have new accidents.. But it went fine, and Lilly started to listen and we made some progress :)

I also have an interview for a job, a nanny, next weekend. I need to call to the mom at friday and find my way to the next city to see the family. I know it's nothing to do with my diploma or being secretary, but I need a job and I want to make money again. I'm really hoping this will work well, and could get the car :) would be the best thing!

Next week is the last week of the school, and we'll have holidays in Finland! 10days there! jippii!

Hot chocolate and gaufre au miel

Cold weather has reached us again, today I did feel like wearing huge wool shirt, wool scarf and leather gloves. It is still 10degrees outside, but it feels so cold with the wind. My fingers are icy, getting blue so easily.

So after the lessons (where we did had good laugh with all the foreign students), I walked to the nearest store to buy some gaufre au miel, honey waffles and also big chunk of raisin & hazelnut chocolate. I know I'm being a gourmand, greedy for the soft and sweet things with warm drink. I can't wait that Raph will come from work to home, and we can have relaxing evening together with these sweets.

This is waiting for Raph, soon..
